PSTT09 Bako National Park

Bako National Park, the first gazette national park in Sarawak. Bako was established as a national park in 1957. Since then, it has offered its visitors the perfect introduction to Sarawak’s native vegetation and wildlife.

There are 16 trails that explore the diversity of the park. The most popular takes you in search of the shy pot-bellied Proboscis Monkeys. Catch them as they come to riverbanks to feed before they head for the cool depths of the forests when the day heats up. Another popular trail explores the mangrove swamps where most of its denizens are equipped to live both on land and underwater.

You also will see winding creepers and vines, long tailed macaques and silver leaf monkeys, wild boars, squirrels, monitor lizards and many other animals.

*Please note that these animals are wild and therefore, there is no guarantee that visitors will see them.
